Daniel Norman is a landscape architect with over seventeen years of professional experience who thrives on collaborating with artists, environmental scientists, and stakeholders across disciplines to construct meaningful and functional landscape insertions that promote climate resiliency in both action and education. His practice has focused on orchestrating successful landscapes in educational and institutional contexts, urban streetscapes and placemaking, parks, and residential projects.
As an avid gardener and cook, Daniel is constantly experimenting and investigating with all his senses in search of life’s great experiences and rewards. Beginning in 2015, Daniel volunteered with the Rose Kennedy Greenway recording phenology changes in The Fort Point Channel Parks, and, most recently, he co-created the award-winning Bloom Tracker app, which allows visitors and volunteers to learn about plants in bloom, plan visits, and navigate the 17-acre park’s horticultural collection. The app was an interactive way to represent publicly collected data for the public good and sparked Daniel’s further interest in incorporating citizen/student science themes into a climate resiliency focused academic curriculum.
