Central Square Mentioned in State of the City

Earlier this week, Mayor Walsh gave his annual State of the City address. In the speech, we were very pleased to hear him mention the redesign of Central Square in East Boston as an example of the City’s commitment to improve dialogue between City and communities to provide better solutions for both.

“We are opening doors to new schools, new libraries, new homes, and new jobs. And we're listening to new voices. It's not always easy or comfortable. But a more open conversation means better solutions for our City. It's the sign of a more vibrant democracy. And it's working.

You hear it in the voices of students at the new Dearborn STEM Academy in Roxbury and soon at Boston Arts Academy in the Fenway. You see it in the public art at the new Jamaica Plain library. You feel it in a redesigned Central Square in East Boston.”
